Research overview
Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide built from the ACTH(4–7) fragment with a Pro-Gly-Pro extension added to the C-terminus for stability. It was developed in Russia and has a long history in neuropeptide research.
It is used to study BDNF expression, neurotrophic signaling and neuroprotection models. Semax and Selank, both from the same research program, are often studied side by side.
Storage and handling
Store the sealed, lyophilized vial at -20°C and away from light. Let the vial reach room temperature before opening so moisture does not condense on the powder, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles once a solution has been prepared.
