The few minutes after a delivery arrives are when you can catch a problem early, and when it is easiest for a supplier to put it right. This checklist covers what to inspect, how to store everything promptly, and what to do if anything looks wrong.

1. Check the outer package

  • Box intact, not crushed, wet or torn open
  • Tracking shows a normal delivery with no long delays in transit
  • Contents match your order confirmation

Take a quick photo of the package before you open it. If there is a problem later, it helps.

2. Inspect each vial

  • Seal: crimped cap and stopper intact, with no loose caps or punctures
  • Glass: no cracks or chips
  • Label: compound name, quantity, lot number and “for research use only” all legible

3. Check the powder

A good lyophilized vial holds a dry white or off-white cake or an even powder layer. Some colors are normal for specific compounds; GHK-Cu, for example, is typically blue because of its copper.

  • Normal: a cake that has cracked or come loose from the glass in transit; movement doesn’t harm dry powder.
  • Contact the supplier: powder that looks wet, sticky, glassy or collapsed into a film, or has an unexpected color.

4. Match the lot to its certificate

Find the lot number on each vial and look it up. Every one of our lots is listed in the COA Library with its test results from Bioviridian Labs (ISO/IEC 17025, Texas). If you can’t find a lot, tell us. Learn what to look for in COA red flags.

5. Store promptly

Lyophilized peptides tolerate room temperature in transit, but long-term storage should be cold. Move sealed vials to -20°C, away from light, the same day. Leave them sealed until you need them, and let a vial reach room temperature before opening. See how to store peptides.

6. Record what you received

Note the compound, lot number, quantity and date received in your lab records. Tying results back to a specific lot is what makes experiments reproducible.
