Research overview
KPV is the C-terminal tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It keeps much of α-MSH’s anti-inflammatory activity while being far smaller, which makes it a convenient tool for inflammation research.
Researchers study it in NF-κB signaling, intestinal epithelial and colitis models, and cytokine-release assays. Because it is so short, its cellular uptake through peptide transporters is also an active research question. KPV is one of the components of the KLOW blends.
Storage and handling
Store the sealed, lyophilized vial at -20°C and away from light. Let the vial reach room temperature before opening so moisture does not condense on the powder, and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles once a solution has been prepared.
